Welding technology was practiced in Nigeria for decades under different umbrellas until the establishment of Nigerian Institute of Welding (NIW. Established in 1980 as Nigerian Institute of Welding under the corporate affair commission of Nigeria, its objective centers on disseminating information on welding technology, education, training and certification.


Welding in Egypt Welding in Egypt is managed by few institutions including mainly Central Metallurgical R&D Institute (CMRDI) that is affiliated to Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

South Africa

Welding in South Africa is managed by the Southern African Institute of Welding (SAIW, a non-profit technical organization dedicated to furthering standards in welding-fabrication and related technologies.


Welding in Ethiopia is managed in Ethiopia’s Center of Excellence for Engineering and Welding Training and Technology Center, established in April 2010 by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Capacity Building (MoCB) with the goal to overcome problems of manufacturing engineering specifically welding which is characterized by low productivity, low quality and low competitiveness.


Manufacturing is the backbone of any industrialized nation. Manufacturing and technical staff in industry must know the various manufacturing processes, materials being processed, tools and equipment for manufacturing different components or products with optimal process plan using proper precautions and specified safety rules to avoid accidents.


Welding in Namibia is managed by the Namibian Institute of Welding. A vocational training service provider authorized by the Namibian training authority to offer coded welding courses across basic, structural and pipe welding competencies.

The Libyan Advanced Professional Center for Welding Technologies was established with the aim of localizing the techniques of traditional and advanced welding processes and conducting scientific research in this field to be a national expert house in the work of metal welding.


The Cameroon Welding Association (C.W.A) in French "Association de Soudure du Cameroun (A.S.C)” is a group of professional in mechanical engineering and welding in Cameroon whose mission is to organize the dissemination framework research and develop training tools that will enable its members to meet the competitive requirements of the labor market


The East African Institute of Welding is a leader in competence-based welder training in the East Africa region to globally certified standards.


DANEST ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED (DECL), a total welding solutions company, offers consulting in Weld Engineering, Welding Education and Training, and a site laboratory of SANAS ISO 17025 accredited Metallurgical Testing Labs (MTLabs) of South Africa.
