The Welding Federation is an organization commitment to addressing frictions limiting advancement of Africa’s manufacturing industries through the development of tailored made solutions by the Federation for growth and sustenance of Africa’s materials manufacturing industries. Data and or details from this questionnaire will be treated discreetly, with no access to 3rd parties. Details will be applied strictly to access efficacy of solutions already developed and guide to addressing issues specific to Africa’s member state industries

17.0 What is your opinion on TWF's continentally harmonized scheme for the education, Training, Qualification and Certification of personnel skills in welding for building and Integrating Africa's Manufacturing industries towards increased value addition to member state GDPs?

A harmonized scheme for the Education, Training, Qualification and Certification of personnel in Fitting practice. There are four (4) specific qualification competencies: Structural Fitter (RSF), Gas Pipe Fitter (GPF), Water Pipe Fitter (Pipe Fitter Plumbing) and Mechanical Fitter

A harmonized scheme which addresses the Education, Training, Qualification and Certification of personnel in Welding Inspection practice. There are two (2) competence levels i.e. basic and senior.

A harmonized scheme which addresses the Education, Training, Qualification and Certification of Welders. Scheme captures both formal and informal welding blocks unique to Africa (refer section 20A).

A harmonized scheme which addresses the Education, Training, Qualification and Certification of personnel in Pressure Equipment Inspection. There are two (2) specific qualification competencies (basic and senior) and the scheme is implemented in harmony with national competent Persons programs in member countries where it exists (refer section 20B). Where it doesn’t, TWF hopes to work with responsible bodies to develop such across Africa's member countries.

20.0 TWF hopes to support national societies to develop and implement national economic tools where it doesn’t exist and improve where its exists to support building of national welding capacities across member states?
National Welding Society: A national welding society is a rallying point for the collation, dissemination and review of welding science and practices for continual improvement in an economy.
Pressure Equipment Regulation: A pressure equipment regulation is an important economic tool employed nationally to control the import, design, manufacturing, inspection, operation, repairs and maintenance of pressure equipment across a vast range of industry sectors.
