TWF’s integrated personnel training, qualification and certification schemes caters for the development of personnel technical skills, equipped with adequate knowledge to handle task and responsibilities both current and emerging in African and the global manufacturing industry. Accredited and accreditable to ISO 17024, TWF personnel training, qualification and certification schemes in addition to being tailored to applicable code details, address industry integration frameworks specified in the African continental free trade pact to promote continental trade in products and service.
TWF personnel qualification and certification are developed in accordance with best practice requirements specified in applicable industry codes and standards. TWF Welding Inspection Certification - TWF WIC
TWF Welding Inspector education, training and certification scheme is an integrated system for the development of personnel skill equipped with adequate knowledge and technicalities to handle challenges both current and emerging in the industry. The ISO 17024 accreditable scheme addresses industry integration requirement specified by the African continental free trade pact to promote continental trade in products and services.
This scheme management document has the purpose both to manage the development of welding inspector competencies specific to industries in Africa and as well to establish the TWF welding inspector certification as a bridge to international welding inspector certification. The scheme addresses welding inspection across two competency levels with emphasis on fabrication further insight into fabrication inspection and its management.

TWF harmonizes all relevant standards and eliminates the compulsion for multiple certifications either for practicing and or intending inspectors and or quality control personnel to be tasked with inspection responsibilities across Africa’s manufacturing industries.

The welding industry is constantly evolving with new technologies and practices. However, there are also unique approaches to practices across regions based on several factors. TWF integrated Training, Qualification and Certification system for welders incorporates both standard practice stipulations and specific edges associated with the practice of welding in Africa for sustainability.
Specifically, TWF- IWQS is designed to expand elasticity of skills available and applicable to address pressing industrial demands in Africa and globally. Persons who successfully completes TWF IWQS and earns the certificate will be equipped with adequate knowledge and technicalities to handle welding challenges both current and emerging in industries across Africa and global industries.
Generally, holders of TWF IWQS certificate will be able to work effectively in a team or alone, as well as follow health, safety and security procedures: Health and Safety, Fire safety, Safety systems, Emergencies, rescue and first-aid procedures. Specifically, responsibilities of holders of TWF IWQS will be capable of addressing he following minimum responsibilities
Structural Welder
In a standard working condition, a TWF Qualified Structural Welder is equipped to execute the following responsibilities – Apply saws or other mediums to cut materials into desired shapes and sizes, check angles and gap allowances by means of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers, clean and prepare metal workpieces using scrapers, and grinders to ensure a smooth and contaminant-free surface, comply with health safety regulations when performing hazardous welding operations such as oxyacetylene or plasma arc welding, carrying out repairs of metal structures such as bridges, building framework, and auto body parts, Evaluating finished welds to ensure they are flawless and meet set specifications is also part of structural welder description, read and interpret basic spool sheets, schematics, and other structural diagrams., collaborate with pipefitters, electricians and other construction workers to achieve building goals, execute post-welding activities such as grinding, cleaning, and polishing of workpieces.
Pipe Welder
In standard working condition, a TWF qualified pipe welder is technically equipped to execute the following task and job function – Read and interpret blueprints and schematics., determine required tools, materials and welding methods, assemble, install and repair pipe components according to specifications, Inspect materials, equipment, and tools, prepare working materials by clamping and or cutting , examining completed welds to ensure they are free of defects, smooth, and functional, as well as observing all necessary safety practices according to safety regulations.
Combo Welder
A TWF combo welder is a dual process welder with the combined process application capabilities. In standard workshop condition, a TWF combo Welder Diploma holder will be adequately equipped to handle all the responsibilities of a welder i.e., whether structural or pipe across different range of products and structures applying either or a combination of the range of welding processes within the scope of his or her qualification in accordance with welding or product code specifications. These responsibilities include to read and interpret blueprints and schematics., determine required tools, materials and welding methods, assemble, install and repair pipe components according to specifications, inspect materials, equipment, and tools, prepare working materials by clamping and or cutting, examining completed welds to ensure they are free of defects, smooth, and functional, as well as observing all necessary safety practices according to safety regulations.

TWF Continental Fitter Diploma

TWF Welder diploma holder commands deep level practical skills in welding and is categorized at three levels i.e.
TWF Welding Inspection Certification (WIC)
TWF welding inspector qualification diplomas have been developed with a critical focus to addressing welding inspection responsibilities specific to industries in Africa. The scheme combines the exposure and experience of welding inspectors and managers towards addressing industry requirements for welding inspection personnel involved in a wide range of industries. TWF Pressure Vessel Inspector (In-service Inspector)

This course presents a deep and comprehensive approach to the development of competent persons across all necessary standards and codes. It offers a guaranteed channel to African countries to effectively professionalize the development of their national competent person qualification framework. TWF Certificate Course - Weld Quality Management)
This course aims at assisting those in welding coordination teams to understand the requirements of ISO 3834 such that they can implement the necessary processes as well as understand and familiarize themselves with their roles as stated in ISO 14731.
