In my capacity as Director General, I can confidently posit that the Ethiopian economy is highly demanding of skilled welders in the infrastructural development process. Welding is backbone of infrastructural development of any given country. Investing on this sector is essentially investing on blood vessels of various economy sectors.
The African Welding Federation (TWF) has indeed become a promising rallying point for advancing welding knowledge, skills, and industry standards across Africa. TWF’s mission to develop and promote welding skills aligns well with the continent’s growing need for skilled labor in industrial and infrastructure development, making its role crucial in shaping a sustainable and competitive welding industry in africa.
The infrastructural development activities might not have peaked as expected, but there are huge capacity and investment gaps Road building, Electric car manufacturing, urban housing project and dam building.
As country member of TWF, and host of the 3rd Annual Assembly and International conference of The Welding Federation which holds from 14 – 16 of April 2025 at Haile Grande Hotel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, we are set to expand our alliance across Africa to build deeper relationships and collaboration to deepen our local capacities
At this event, Ethiopia is strategically focused on attracting specific companies and sub-industry manufacturers across Africa to participate in the TWF Assembly and Welding Competition, with the goal of building a robust national presence and enhancing its industrial capabilities. Ethiopia’s interests align with advancing key areas in its manufacturing and infrastructure sectors in the energy, car manufacturing, dam construction, boiler manufacturing and related industries
